Michael L. Andrews, age 65, of Sturgis, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, in Mishawaka.
He was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Sturgis, a son of the late James T. and Evelyn (Luginbill) Andrews.
Mike was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1974.
On July 26, 1997, he married Karen (Cart) Maple in Sturgis.
Mike had a work ethic we could all learn from. He started working at a young age, doing yard work and mowing lawns and began a paper route that quickly grew to a double route. He retired from Kroger in Sturgis following 42 years of dedicated employment.
He was a member since childhood of First Baptist Church in Sturgis and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his cats.
Mike is survived by his wife, Karen; a stepdaughter, Michelle (Ron) McCoy of Fort Wayne; two grandsons, Cody and Ryan; great-grandchildren Naomi and Noah; a sister, Karen (Jim) Haack of Rogers City; a brother, Steve (Deb Kintigh) Andrews of Centreville; a niece, Kristen; and nephews James and Tim.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David Andrews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow visitation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restriction of gatherings, limitation of no more than 20 people in the funeral home at a time will be followed and face masks are required.
