Norma Jean Quirin, age 89, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday morning, December 24, 2020 at the Bowman Place in Three Rivers.
She was born December 31, 1930 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Morse D. and Evealo (Bowers) Kanouse.
Mrs. Quirin was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1949.
On September 30, 1950 she married James E. Quirin in Sturgis. He preceded her in death July 28, 1986.
Norma retired from Ross Laboratories in Sturgis following 28 years of dedicated employment as a sterilizer operator. She had also worked at Freeman Manufacturing in Sturgis.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sturgis where she had served as the church secretary for several years.
She is survived by her son: Mark (Malinda) Quirin of White Pigeon; granddaughter: Gabbi Salisbury; one sister: Gladys Johnston of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law: Neil Johnston
Mark and Malinda would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of the Bowman Place for the love and care Norma received from everyone at the facility.
In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Norma J. Quirin and burial of the ashes at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis will be held at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
