Arrest made following pursuit

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Constantine man this week after he led law-enforcement officials on a pursuit that concluded in Sturgis.

Investigators said deputies attempted to stop the vehicle after it was observed driving left of center around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Its driver failed to stop and instead sped from Fawn River Township into Sturgis.

The 22-year-old driver continued onto Orange, Prairie, South, Wenzel, Congress and Nottawa streets, and eventually to Centerville Road. The situation concluded not long after the car crashed. The driver fled on foot and broke into a home in the 700 block of Enterprise Street.

The driver was eventually taken into custody.

He was charged with first-degree home invasion, fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, possession of methamphetamine and several misdemeanor charges.
