Barbara Julaine Reisterer, age 73, of Lawton, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at White Oaks Assisted Living Center. She was born in Vicksburg on Feb. 28, 1947 the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Moessen) Stermer. She was a 1965 graduate of Vicksburg High School and lifetime resident of Southwest Michigan. She worked at Meijer where she met her husband, Thomas Reisterer. They were married in May of 1967 and were later divorced.
Barbara loved music and dancing. She enjoyed entertaining neighbors and friends at her home. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. She especially looked forward to cooking holiday dinners and time with her family.
Barbara is survived by five children, Sonja (Greg) Firestone of Wildwood, FL, Douglas (Donna Culp) Reisterer of Galesburg, Monica Reisterer of Paw Paw, Teresa (Chad) Brown of Bloomingdale, and Victoria (Dan) Dalman of Scotts; eleven grandchildren, Giselle, Zoey, Zachary, Audrey, Alex, Devyn, Kyle, Chase, Trey, Haley, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Donna and Marlene; and four brothers, Eugene, Larry, Helmer, and David.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 pm Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. Masks, social distancing, and a limit of 25 in attendance will be observed.
