Cleon Milliman, 83

Cleon Robbins Milliman, age 83, of Burr Oak, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2021, at his home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1937, in Sturgis, a son of the late Nelson and Mildred (Robbins) Milliman.
Cleon was a lifelong Burr Oak resident and a graduate of Burr Oak High School with the class of 1956.
On July 11, 1956, he married Helen Joan Keeslar at Burr Oak United Methodist Church in Burr Oak. She preceded him in death Jan. 15, 2014.
Cleon was involved in farming nearly his entire life. He also had worked at St. Joseph County Road Commission for 25 years; Milliman’s Feed Service for over 50 years; and had worked as a bus driver and janitor at Burr Oak Community Schools for several years.
Cleon was active in Little League, served as a 4-H leader for many years, played fast-pitch softball and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Cleon had hobbies and involvements, but what he truly loved was time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons: Raymond Milliman of Burr Oak and Richard Milliman of White Pigeon; two daughters, Robin (Monte) Bordner of Sturgis and Ruby (Jeff) Swett of White Pigeon; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Neil (Kathy) Milliman of South Bend, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Lola Fiebelkorn; and a brother, William G. Milliman.
Due to current conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and limitation of gatherings, services at this time will be private. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the services. A graveside service and celebration of life will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak at a later date, to be announced.
