Constantine man arrested after traffic stop

A Constantine man was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop over the weekend in Mottville Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies attempted to stop a vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday following a traffic violation on Burke Road near U.S. 12.

Deputies said the driver was speeding and disobeying stop signs in the area. The vehicle was pursued to State Line Road, where it entered a field. The vehicle exited and was again pursued by deputies.

Investigators said the vehicle was driven into another field before the suspect finally stopped and surrendered.

The 34-year-old suspect was charged with several traffic violations, narcotics-related offenses and weapons violations, according to authorities.
