County commission met for first meeting of the year

St. Joseph County commissioners addressed a number of annual housekeeping items during their inaugural meeting of 2021 Tuesday.

The five-member panel agreed to keep their twice-a-month meetings at 5 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month. Executive committee meetings will also stay unchanged: 8 a.m. the Wednesday before a commission meeting.

Also Tuesday, commissioners approved their annual appropriations.

Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse will receive nearly $260,000 for the year, with payments to be made quarterly. Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, meanwhile, will receive $307,700.

Finally, the following people were appointed or reappointed to the St. Joseph County Community Corrections Advisory Board: Jeff Middleton, Rob Pattison, Paul Stutesman, David Tomlinson, Dave Marvin, Kitty Buchner, Lisa Martin, Autumne Keifer, Tom Miles, Eddie MacKay, Gerald Loudenslager, Luke Noffsinger and Kathy Pangle.
