High school playoffs continue

Centreville High School Athletic Director Jill Peterson said she received notice late Thursday that Clarkston Everest Collegiate will have to forfeit tonight’s state semi-final football game due to COVID-19.

The forfeit means Centreville advances to the state’s Division 8 championship game next week. The contest will take place at 10 a.m. next Friday against the winner of Saturday’s contest between Ubly and Johannesburg-Lewiston.

Meanwhile, Constantine will play Saturday for the right to appear in the Division 6 state final. The 9-and-1 Falcons will take on 9-and-1 Clinton at Clinton High School at 1 p.m. The winner faces the victor of Saturday’s Grayling/Montague game.

Also Saturday, 9-and-1 Schoolcraft plays 9-and-0 New Lothrop in a state semi-final contest at 1 p.m. That game will take place at Fenton High School.
