James Luke Irwin, age 59, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2021 at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born December 24, 1961 in Three Rivers, son of the late Donald Duane and Delores A. (Gulcynski) Irwin.
James resided most of his life in the Sturgis, Constantine and Centreville area.
He was currently working at Sturgis Molded Products where he had been employed for many years.
James was proud to have served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and model railroading and seemed to be always tinkering and putting things together.
James is survived by one brother: Paul Irwin of Sturgis; one niece: Samantha (her fiancé James Burns) Irwin of Coldwater; one nephew: Matthew Irwin of Three Rivers and great nephew: Trey Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Maria; nephew: Lucas Irwin and great niece: Ella Hall.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Due to the current conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and limitations of gatherings a memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of James Irwin will be held at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in James memory consider the charity of one’s own choice.
