John Boggs, 80

John M. Boggs, age 80, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born Aug.10, 1940, in Hudson, Ind., a son of the late John and Grace Boggs.
John resided in Sturgis for more than 50 years.
John retired from Rehau Inc. in Sturgis following over 30 years of dedicated employment. Following retirement he worked at Twin Mills Resort in Howe, Ind., and also at Adapt in Sturgis.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. John enjoyed going on car rides and loved his dogs and time spent with his family.
John is survived by a daughter, Erica (Kyle) Pearson of LaGrange; a son, David L. Boggs of Sturgis; grandchildren Aslynn and Curtis; three stepdaughters, Dawn Handshoe of Howe, Michelle Quigg of Indianapolis and Erma Quigg of Sturgis; and a sister, Pat.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Boggs; his father, John Boggs; and mother and stepfather, Grace and Curt Smith.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Private services will follow visitation. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
