Larry F. Shingledecker, Sr., age 67, of Centreville, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Bayfront Health Hospital in Brooksville, FL. Larry was born in Three Rivers on May 18, 1953, a son of Forrest “Bud” and Eleanor (Waltz) Shingledecker, Jr. He graduated from Sturgis Schools. On July 7, 1973, he married Teresa Juday.
Larry worked for the St. Joseph County Road Commission for 43 years. He also farmed for most of his life. He was a very hard-working, particular man, and he spent countless hours working in his tool shed. Larry was most known for his passion for truck and tractor pulling. He enjoyed restoring cars and tractors with his son, spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling to his home in Florida with his wife and family.
Larry is survived by his wife Teresa Shingledecker of Centreville, children Larry (Brooke) Shingledecker Jr. and Amy (Joe) Wickey, both of Centreville, grandchildren Max and Berkley Shingledecker and Hank and Carter Wickey, mother Eleanor Christopherson of Centreville, and siblings Karen Jenkins and Deb (Bob) Maestas.
He was preceded in death by his fathers Bud Shingledecker and Chris Christopherson.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday, January 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 at Eley Funeral Home, Centreville. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 2:00 at Moorepark Cemetery (17000 Moorepark Rd., Three Rivers). Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required.
