Man arrested after fleeing police

A 20-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit last week in Park Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies attempted to stop a speeding vehicle shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 131 at Michigan Avenue.

The suspect fled from deputies and was pursued into the city of Three Rivers. The suspect then abandoned his vehicle on Seventh Street and tried to flee on foot.

Three Rivers police officers assisted with locating and taking the suspect into custody.

He was charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of methamphetamine, traffic violations and outstanding warrants.
