Mark Edward Harmon, age 69, of Mishawaka, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at Paul’s Group Home on Portage Avenue in South Bend.
He was born March 21, 1951, in Sturgis, to Edward and Joan (Messner) Harmon.
On Aug. 17, 1974, he married Ranah Hoard in Battle Creek. She survives, along with two daughters, Amy (Shawn) Gillespie of Ontario, Canada, and Kasey (Jeramy) St. Clair of Mishawaka; and five grandchildren, Libby, Blake, Nolan, Masen and Lilly. Also surviving are six siblings, David (Leilani) Harmon of Utah, Keith (Debbie) Harmon of Indiana, Dale (Beckie) Harmon and Tim Harmon, both of Michigan, Pat (John) Iannotti of Florida and Krystal Schwartz and Michael Lipp of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark graduated in 1969 from Sturgis High School and served in the Michigan National Guard for 13 years. Mark was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and a member of UAW Local #5. He was a model train hobbyist, an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mark worked at Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 30 years and at AM General in Mishawaka for 14 years.
Cremation has taken place at Elkhart Cremation Services in Elkhart, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association of St. Joseph County or to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
