Mona Tobias, 94

Mona J. Tobias, age 94, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born June 18, 1926 in Sturgis, a daughter to the late William and Nettie (Kielkopf) Whitsel.
Mona was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1944 and has been a Sturgis resident all of her life except for a couple years she resided in Arizona and California because of her husband’s Military Service.
On Dec. 22, 1951 in Yuma, AZ she married Clarence “Toby” Tobias. He preceded her in death Aug. 10, 2000.
She retired from Dometic Corp. in LaGrange, was an active member in the Fish Lake Bible Church for over 25 years, and enjoyed reading.
Surviving are two sons: William Tobias of Sturgis and Joe (Debbie) Tobias of Kingston, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons: Dennis and Michael, and one sister: Lois Donley.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mona J. Tobias will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at the Fish Lake Bible Church, 25108 Banker Street, Sturgis, MI 49091 with the Rev. Tim Brondyke officiating.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
