Centreville superintendent proposes strategic plan

Centreville Public Schools Superintendent Stephanie Lemmer has proposed a new, five-year strategic plan.

During a special board meeting Monday, Lemmer provided a 30-minute synopsis of the plan. Lemmer noted it marks the start of planning new cycle, the second during her 3 1/2-year tenure. Lemmer said a three-year plan she helped incorporate has expired, warranting the need for an updated plan.

Lemmer said respect, collaboration, integrity and caring were the hallmarks identified as critical components of the initial strategic plan. Board president Jeff Troyer and other board members said those values remain as critical today as they were in 2017.

Lemmer said she would like to see the district host town-hall-style meetings for not only parents, but for staff as well as students at both its buildings.

In addition, Lemmer said the process would involve community members identified as stakeholders, volunteers, organizations the district works in partnership with and local businesses.

Lemmer said she hopes to move forward with the meetings in March and April.
