Constantine approves medical marijuana application wording

Members of the Constantine Village Council voted unanimously Monday to approve the wording in a recreational marijuana permit application.

It is limited to five provisioning centers, three cultivating centers, two microbusinesses, one processing center and no limit on transportation.

Village manager Mark Honeysett said the application is straightforward and nearly identical to the village’s medical marijuana permit application.

It includes a 110-point system evaluating who is best suited to operate in the village.

The application currently applies only to local businesses with a medical marijuana permit. There is a $5,000 initial/renewal fee for both the medical and recreational marijuana permits.

Honeysett said he already has received two applications for a recreational marijuana permit.
