Planning begins for Water Festival

Organizers of the Three Rivers Water Festival recently met and decided to plan for a resumption of what would be the city’s 64th Water Festival.

Christy Trammell, president & CEO of the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, said it made sense to plan a 2021 festival then cancel or postpone if circumstances warrant.

As it stands, the three-day festival will kick off June 17.

Trammell said the work behind organizing the 2021 festival will be somewhat easier than usual because everything set for last year was more or less just pushed forward 12 months.

Aside from the usual attractions – rides, carnival games, food vendors, live music, fireworks and other traditional favorites – the 2021 festival will feature considerable care for vendors, participants and attendees by altering the formats of some of the activities.

Ongoing updates are available at the Three Rivers Water Festival Facebook page, as well as online: trchamber.com.
