Update on Van Buren/Cass vaccinations

The Van Buren/Cass District Health Department has issued updated information related to COVID-19 cases and vaccinations.

The agency said as of Friday, it had administered 3,149 immunizations in Cass County and 7,500 in all. The figures include first and second doses.

Agency officials said there have been 3,543 confirmed cases and 59 COVID-related deaths in Cass County.

The CDC has updated its quarantine recommendations for people who have been vaccinated. People who are fully vaccinated and meet criteria will no longer be required to quarantine following an exposure to someone with COVID-19.

The agency is currently offering vaccinations to people in Phase 1A, all priority groups; and Phase 1B, Groups A and B.
