Charlie Black, 83

Charlene “Charlie” E. Black, age 83, of Constantine, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021.  She was born on April 13, 1937 in Three Oaks, MI, a daughter of Clyde and Kathrine (Stephens) Eichorn.  In April of 1964, she married George Black. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2020. Charlie was a waitress at Village Inn in Constantine, and later retired from Country Table in White Pigeon.

Charlie is survived by her daughter Katherine (Robert) VanLew of Michigan City, IN, daughter Charlene Barnett of Zephyr Hills, FL, son Clyde (Deb) Black of Jones, son Noah (Tamrra) Black of Constantine, 16 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, and sister Sandy Brock of Buchanen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son George E. Black II, daughters Deborah Payne and Kathleen Postmus, sister Judy Pulliam, and half sister Jean Goring.

Relatives and friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Eley Funeral Home in  Constantine. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Constantine Township Cemetery, with Pastor PJ Horn, Corey Church of the Nazarene, officiating.  Memorials can be given to the family.
