Connie Jennings, 63

Connie Sue Jennings, age 63, of Sturgis, passed away peacefully at home late Monday evening, March 1, 2021, after a very courageous battle with cancer and many other illnesses.
She was born Jan. 21, 1958, in Sturgis, a daughter of Ted and Donna (Deal) Rickett.
Connie was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1976. She furthered her education at Concordia Lutheran College in Ann Arbor.
On May 20, 1978, she married Kenneth Jennings at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, by the Rev. Herbert M. Heidenreich.
Connie retired from AB’s Gloves and Abrasives in Sturgis following 18 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis.
Connie loved spending time with her family and vacationing in Traverse City with her husband. She also enjoyed going to the casino.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 43 years, Kenneth; two sons, Travis (Candice) Jennings of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Ryan Jennings of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Kendra (Craig) Pierce of Sturgis; granddaughter Pippa Jennings of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; grandson Matthew Pierce of Sturgis; her parents, Ted and Donna Rickett of Sturgis; a brother, Roger Rickett of Blaine, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Vreeland of Flushing; a brother-in-law, Michael (Sue) Jennings of Sturgis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws Ralph and Arlene Jennings, brother-in-law Thomas Jennings and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date, to be announced. The Revs. Larry Matro and Calvin Kolzow of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sturgis will officiate.
Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with arrangements.
