Health department offers vaccines to anyone 16 and older

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has removed all barriers to receiving the COVID-19 vaccination in the tri-county area.

Health officer Rebecca Burns said everyone 16 years of age and older can schedule an appointment at a clinic offered by the agency to receive the vaccine.

As of a week ago, positive COVID-19 cases were at 11.2 percent in Branch County and 9.3 percent in St. Joseph County.

Burns said individuals fully vaccinated who have had close contact with a COVID-positive person are not required to quarantine unless they are symptomatic.

Appointments can be scheduled online at http://bhsj.org/events/341. There is no cost, no insurance card will be requested and the agency will accept any form of ID for individuals seeking vaccination.
