Marion “Bud” Leonard, 77

Marion L. “Bud” Leonard, age 77, of White Pigeon, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1944, in Kendallville, a son of the late Marion C. and Thelma (Balk) Leonard.
On Oct. 3, 1969, he married Brenda Palmer in Centreville.
Marion was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and enlisted for more than 16 years.
He had been employed at several area factories including Leland Engineering and he enjoyed woodworking, working in the yard and his family.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda; four children, Scott Leonard of Sturgis, Robert (Theresa) Leonard of Howe, Ind., Brian (Violet) Leonard of Richmond, Va., and Karen (Rob) Howe of White Pigeon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, David (Karen) Leonard of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Larry, James and Richard; and a sister, Vera Leonard.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, with full military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and Capt. John J. Kelley V.F.W. Post #1355.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Hackman Family Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 9, Sturgis, MI 49091, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
