Patricia Sziede, age 80, of Marcellus, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born in Kalamazoo on October 10, 1940, the daughter of Ralph Edward Rhodes and Iva Bertine McNutt.
On March 27, 1981 in Paw Paw, Patricia married David Allan Sziede, who survives her in death.
Patricia was a seamstress, working for many years at JAC Custom Pouch and Cree Coach. She was also a school bus driver for Marcellus Schools for 10 years.
Patricia loved going to all of her grandkids and great-grandkids activities, everything from ballgames to ballet. She also enjoyed spending her time cooking, crafting, and sewing. Patricia was also very competitive and loved playing card games. She especially loved spending winters in Sarasota, FL playing on corn hole and shuffleboard leagues.
Patricia is survived by her husband David Sziede; sister Leah (Larry) Mason of Marcellus; sons Randy (Kim) Thompson of Sister Lakes, Richard (Teresa) Thompson of Marcellus; daughters Deb Clark (Darryl Warner) of Battle Creek, Becky (Todd) Borger and Halee (Jeff) Surach of Marcellus, daughter-in-law Deitra Thompson of Lawton; 22 grand children; 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia is preceded in death by her son David Thompson; parents Ralph and Iva Rhodes; and brother Daniel Rhodes.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Marcellus VFW on May 1, 2021 with visitation from 1 to 5pm with words of comfort taking place at 2pm.
