Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees has approved tuition and fees for the 2021-22 academic year.
During their board meeting last week, trustees agreed to keep tuition rates flat, drop the $25 distance-learning course fee and implement a technology fee of $9 per contact hour.
Based on the instructional changes brought by COVID, president David Devier said he believes Glen Oaks will never be as much face-to-face as before. Overall, removal of the distance-learning fee and the addition of the technology fee will amount to approximately a 3.3 percent increase.
In other matters, the board approved updated course fees for 2021-22, changes to the 2022-23 and 2023-24 college calendars, a privacy policy to be added to the college’s website, the addition of the course Associate of Science in Computer Information Systems, along with a number of other computer program curriculum changes.
