In-person learning paused at Three Rivers High School

Today marks the third day of a two-week pause of in-person learning and athletics for Three Rivers High School.

Superintendent Ron Moag said the district’s mandate to revert to distance learning was made by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency. A surge in COVID-19 cases at the high school warranted the measure. The district’s middle school and its four elementary schools are not impacted and remain subscribed to in-person learning.

The health agency said 29 high school students and staff as of late last week had tested positive since students returned to in-person learning two weeks ago. Moag said more than 150 students at the high school – including its varsity softball and baseball teams – are subject to quarantine.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, high school students would return to in-person learning May 10.
