A 28-year-old man charged with stalking and drug-related offenses was sentenced last week in Branch County.
The sentence issued to Travis McCann stems from an incident last fall in Branch County’s Matteson Township.
McCann was sentenced to nine months in jail after he entered a guilty plea in March to a charge of aggravated stalking and possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance.
Charges of felony firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging a weapon from a vehicle were dropped.
The sentence was from an incident Nov. 12 in the 900 block of West Colon Road. Authorities said McCann’s wife and children lived at the residence, and he became upset that his wife’s boyfriend was at the house.
Charges are also pending against McCann in St. Joseph and LaGrange counties.
Two friends of McCann are also facing charges after they tried to convince his wife to drop the charges.
