Nancy Gage, 75

Nancy Lee Gage of Mendon died peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the age of 75. She was born in Chicago on March 9, 1946 the daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Renghi) Mathews. Nancy graduated from Mendon High School with the class of 1964 and later graduated from Western Michigan University. She taught school at the Pathfinder Center and was a special education teacher at Sturgis Middle School for 31 years. Nancy enjoyed photography, painting, learning to play the guitar, traveling, playing cards and board games, visiting Michigan lighthouses and capturing the beauty of God’s canvas.

Nancy loved having sleepovers with her grandkids, which included dance-offs, singing, making up new songs, watching movies, popcorn, snuggles, and tons of laughter. She enjoyed eating out with her best friends of 30-plus years, Christmas mornings with her family, shopping, helping others, and rooting for her grandchildren!

Nancy was loved by many and will be missed each and every day. She leaves behind a son, Thad Gage of Three Rivers; a daughter, Stacey (Todd) Ames of Colon; five grandchildren, Kerrigan Gage, Beryl Gage, Zacheriah Vanderhoof, Jade Vanderhoof, and Fisher Ames; two sisters, Shirley Leudecking and Bonnie (Wendel) Moyer; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and loved ones.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial mass will be announced later when COVID restrictions have been lessened. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
