Woman arrested following break-in

A Jonesville woman was arrested after she broke into a residence in Branch County’s Quincy Township.

Michigan State Police troopers were called at 2 a.m. Monday to the 300 block of Maple Road in response to a home invasion in progress.

Investigators said a 22-year-old woman who appeared to be heavily under the influence of alcohol entered the residence and attempted to climb into bed with the homeowners.

Troopers said the suspect refused to leave, telling the husband-and-wife homeowners she believed she was inside her own home.

The husband and wife were able to physically force the suspect out of the home. She left the scene in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am and was located a few minutes later on Wildwood Road.

The suspect was charged with home invasion and drunken disorderly conduct.
