Beverly Johnson, 79

Beverly J. Johnson, age 79, of Burr Oak, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born December 6, 1941 in Chicago, daughter of the late Herman Gustoff and Mary Anne (Evans) Roebke.
Beverly resided in Burr Oak since 1999 coming from Chicago.
On May 27, 1958 she married Randoll Duke Johnson in Chicago. He preceded her in death February 5, 2020.
She retired from Walmart in Sturgis following 11 years of dedicated employment. Prior to moving to Sturgis she worked several years at the Lake Shore Bus Company in Chicago.
She was a member of  St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak.
Beverly enjoyed dancing, singing, visiting lighthouses and hanging with the younger generation and she loved watching horror movies.
She is survived by three daughters: Debbie Shive of Des Plaines, Illinois, Loretta Matsumoto of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Tammy Whitcomb of Florida; three sons: Raymond Johnson of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, Randoll Johnson, Jr. of Indiana and Roger Johnson of Burr Oak; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and expecting her 16th; three sisters: Angel Manley, Maryann Johnson and Linda Smith; two brothers: Herman Roebke and John Roebke and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter: Beverly Albright.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Burr Oak Cemetery. The Rev. Kurt Kuhlmann of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
