Commission on Aging Hires Kelley as Life Enrichment Coordinator

The St. Joseph County Commission on Aging is pleased to announce that Alex Kelley is the new Life Enrichment Coordinator for the COA. Kelley, a Sherwood resident, is a familiar face to COA members as she has been the receptionist at the Oaks Enrichment Center in Sturgis since May 2018.

Kelley, who attended Burr Oak High School and Glen Oaks Community College, possesses a strong background in customer service, and has demonstrated a passion for improving the lives of older adults in St. Joseph County.

COA Executive Director Pamela Riley said when she learned that the position of Life Enrichment Coordinator was open, she knew Kelley would be a natural fit.

“I have watched Alex interact with our members and her positivity and enthusiasm is exactly what we are looking for in a Life Enrichment Coordinator,” Riley said. “Not only does she have the skills to welcome members to the center as a receptionist; she also has shown a desire to help plan and develop programs that will enrich their lives. I am thrilled she has accepted this position.”

Kelley said she enjoys interacting with the COA members and is looking forward to her new role.

“It is very rewarding to see how much our members enjoy the activities we offer, and it feels great to be able to help them stay healthy and independent,” Kelley said. “I am excited to plan new things and get to meet even more COA members from all over the county.”

Since 1973, the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging has been serving seniors with a mission to promote independence through our services and programs.
