Dorothy Marie Breden, age 87, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Elkhart Meadows. She was born April 9, 1934 in South Bend, to the late Charles and Bernice (Foy) Frazier. On July 22, 1949, she married the love of her life, Ralph Breden Jr. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.
She is survived by her children William Breden of South Bend, Valerie (Chuck) Hundt of Jones, Michigan, Paul (Cindy) Breden of Mishawaka, Matthew (Kelli) Breden of Elkhart, and Daniel Breden of South Carolina. Surviving as well are 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son Robert Breden and her 6 siblings: Harold Frazier, Charles “Butch” Frazier Jr., David Frazier, Robert Frazier, JoAnn “Daisy” Yawkey and Viola “Hopie” Weldon.
A private visitation and service will be held for the family, but friends are welcome to attend the graveside committal ceremony at 2pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Cruz Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
Dorothy was passionate about spending time with her family, was an active member of her church, and loved being outdoors. Most of all, Dorothy was extremely proud of her lifelong career as a caregiver and service to others.
