Hope Keeslar, 88

Hope Pauline Keeslar, age 88, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home.
She was born Dec. 9, 1932 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Ray Champagne and Velda Swoveland.
Hope was raised by her Aunt Pauline Penn and in 2002 when Aunt Pauline was 93 years old, she officially adopted Hope and it was a special day in her life.
In 1951 Hope married Robert Frays. He preceded her in death in Oct. of 1952. On July 3, 1953 in Angola, she married Ronald Keeslar. He preceded her in death March 1, 2005.
Hope enjoyed being a stay at home mom and did work part time at Fairview Nursing Home and for home health care. She had a great love for her family, children, grandchildren, farm life, animals, country living, watching the deer and turkey in the field across the lake, and the people in her life that have passed on and were there for her.
Surviving are 2 daughters: Dawn (Tim) Thangvijit of Burr Oak, and Jalynn (Eric) Pierson of Sturgis; 3 sons: Derke Keeslar of Texas, Scott (Ireena) Keeslar, and Darin Keeslar both of Sturgis; several grand and great-grandchildren; special close cousins: Gary (Fran) Penn, Joy June Stuckey, Mary Ellen Penn, and Nancy Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a grandson: Jeremy Keeslar, great-granddaughter: Olivia McKay, aunt: Pauline Penn, special close family: Johnie Lee Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Joy Ellen Mitchell, Ronnie Penn, Geremy Keeslar, and Gaylord Penn.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Sturgis Evangelical Church, 28201 E. Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
Services will take place at 11:00 AM, immediately following the visitation, at the church with Rev. Rodger Moyer, officiating.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Sturgis Evangelical church and envelopes are available at the church or the Hackman Family Funeral Homes who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
