Michelle Jorn, 77

Michelle A Jorn, age 77, of Sturgis, died on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo following a short illness. She was born on September 2, 1943 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Ziba Mitchell and Marjorie Janette (Spore) Elston. She was a graduate of White Pigeon High School and attended Glen Oaks Community College. She was a St. Joseph County resident all of her life. She was employed by Eye Care West for 36 years, and retired on April 24, 2014. She was a Member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, volunteer at Thurston Woods Village, Sturgis Hospital and Open Door Gallery. She was an avid reader and enjoyed entering items at the St. Joseph County Fair and most of all attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her children Glenn (Joni) McNamara, Patrick (Shelle) McNamara, Marc (Michelle) McNamara, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, sister Tamara Elston. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral Services 11:00 AM Thursday May 6, 2021 at The Riverview Christian Fellowship Church in White Pigeon with Pastor Glen Gingerich officiating. Interment in Mottiville Township Cemetery.
