Raymond Wagner, 71

Raymond J. Wagner Jr., age 71, of Burr Oak, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital.

Raymond was born on March 4, 1950 in Sturgis, a son to the late Raymond and Shirley (Weinberg) Wagner Sr.

Raymond attended and graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1968.

Following graduation Raymond served his country in the Vietnam War. After returning home safely he married Brenda Hendrickson in Colon at the United Methodist church on April 14, 1973.

Raymond worked at Kirsch Company in Sturgis until they closed. He then worked for Vanguard in Colon until retirement.

Raymond was a life member of the Colon American Legion Post 454, a member of the Sturgis VFW, and a member of the Colon Masonic Lodge. Raymond loved bass fishing on Beaver Lake, spending time with his friends at the Legion, and long talks with his brother Steve back on Beaver Lake.

Raymond is survived by his wife Brenda Wagner of Burr Oak, children: Nicole (Kimberly Miller) Wagner of Battle Creek, and Brian (Jenn) Wagner of Sturgis, grandchildren: Ian, Vallen, Landen, and Nova Wagner, Kyra, Ana, and Lilly Lull, a sister Dixie (Chuck) Miller, and brother Steven (Judy) Wagner, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents Raymond was preceded in death by a brother Allen Wagner.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
