David Randall Affhalter, age 63, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021 after six months with cancer.
He was born April 7, 1958 in Three Rivers, the son of Roger and Beth (Snyder) Affhalter.
After graduating from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1976, David worked at Essex Wire, 10 years at the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department as a turnkey, and several years as a Securitas guard at American Axle.
He enjoyed spending time in Colorado and Montana.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Beth and Roger Affhalter; grandparents, Earl and Rhoda Snyder and George and Edith Affhalter.
He is survived by his sister, Dawn Affhalter of Three Rivers; uncle, Alan (EvaAnn) Snyder of Constantine; aunt, June Affhalter of Sturgis; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Ninth Street United Methodist Church, 700 Ninth St., Three Rivers, with Pastor Ed Ross officiating. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.
Donations in David’s memory may be directed to Three Rivers Hospice or the American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.
