Kenneth Lee Mullins, age 79, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at his home.
He was born January 4, 1942 in Wolf Pen, West Virginia son of the late Walter and Gladys Mullins.
Ken resided in Sturgis since 1962. His early life was spent in West Virginia.
On October 22, 1962 he married Alice Clouse in Fort Mead, Maryland.
Ken had been employed by the Sturgis Carton Company, Paramount Furniture Company and the Sturgis Public Schools.
Ken was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning the rank of Sergeant, E-5.
He was a past member of Loyal Order of Moose #574, Eagles Lodge #1314 and Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW. He enjoyed playing his guitar, clock building and watching golf on television.
Ken is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 58 years: Alice; one daughter: Sherry Mullins of Sturgis; one son: Steven (Mary) Mullins of Davenport, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; five sisters, five brothers and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Angel Schrader and seven brothers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Kenneth Lee Mullins will begin at 1:00 P.M. Thursday. Pastor Ben Myers will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Full military honors will be conferred by Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
