Ken Studeman, 80

Kenneth J. Studeman, age 80, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born January 1, 1941 in the same house his father was born in in Sherman Township the only child of the late Lawrence and Edith (Parker) Studeman.
Ken was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1959.
He was first married to Joyce Balk. This marriage ended in divorce but was blessed with two children: Melinda and Jason. On November 7, 1976 he married Kathaleen (Quirin) Pagels bringing into his life three step-children: David, Martha and Douglas.
Ken retired from Ross Laboratories following 31 years of dedicated employment. In earlier years he had worked at a local grocery store and Grumman Olson and farmed with his father. Following his retirement he drove members of the Amish Community for 16 years, a job he truly loved.
He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Sturgis and Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years: Kathaleen; one son: Jason (Wilma) Studeman; step-children: Martha (Don) Cherrington, David (Tammy) Pagels and Douglas (Christina) Pagels; grandchildren: Rachel (Nicole) Studeman, Tucker Studeman, Aiyana Abelgore and Milana Abelgore; great grandchild: Jacik Studeman; four step-grandchildren: Dustin (Jill) Pagels, Nicole (Erich) Kreuter, Andrew (Miranda) Pagels and Neil (Katelyn) Pagels; six step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Melinda Studeman and grandson: Tyler Studeman.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Kenneth J. Studeman will begin at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Matt Taylor will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Nottawa Cemetery in Nottawa.
