Marge Gay, 90

Marjorie P. Gay, age 90, of Sturgis, passed away late Friday evening June 11, 2021 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born November 15, 1930 in Centreville, daughter of the late Louis and Irene (Hinrich) Bruecks.
Marge was a lifelong Centreville and Sturgis area resident.
On October 15, 1949 she married Bernard F. Gay in Elkhart. He preceded her in death February 25, 1999.
Marge retired in 1991 from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following 25 years of dedicated employment. She had also worked at the Transogram Company in Sturgis for 11 years.
She attended the Sturgis Missionary Church. Marge enjoyed water skiing, fishing, camping and mushroom hunting and loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Michael (Kristin) Gay of Sturgis and Benny Scott (Tonya) Gay of Constantine; five grandchildren: John, Emily, Jessica, Jerry and Travis; four great grandchildren: Madison Riddle, Mercedes Blair, Colin Marshall and Ian Marshall; one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter: Carrie Marie Gay; five brothers: Robert Bruecks, Lloyd Bruecks, Kenneth Bruecks, Morris Bruecks and Eugene Bruecks and three sisters: Doris Zielkey, Lorine Wittenberg and Betty (Earl) James.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, June 27th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where a memorial service celebrating the life of Marjorie Gay will begin at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 28th. A graveside committal of the ashes will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
