A Vandalia man was injured earlier this week following a single-vehicle crash in Cass County’s Calvin Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called around 1 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Dry Lake Street and Paradise Cove.
Investigators said a vehicle driven by Michael Deweerd was traveling north on Day Lake Street when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
Deweerd, 31, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Deputies said Deweerd was not wearing a seatbelt. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were involved, Behnke said.
