Bill Chandler, 84

William “Bill” Fonis Chandler, age 84, of Marcellus, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at home.

Bill was born in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee on February 2, 1937, the son of Jesse and Mamie (Hale) Chandler.

On May 3, 1975, in Kokomo, Indiana he married Sally Joan Stahl, who survives.

Bill was a Supervisor for Asplund Tree Service for many years. He was an Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1958, then joined the Army reserve until he was honorably discharged on June 30, 1963.

Bill was a member of the Marcellus VFW Post 4054, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and liked to work as a foreman for various tree services until retiring from Asplund Tree Service.

Bill is survived by his wife: Sally, 4 Daughters: Tena (Kerry) Ernsberger, Brenda (Randy) Leas, Lori (Tim) Brandon and Penny (Greg) Silberg; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and his brother Virgil Chandler.

Bill was preceded in death by 5 daughters: Tammy Leas, Connie Chandler, Debbie Salts, Lisa Karuzis and Kimberly Downing. 1 brother and 4 sisters: Dorothy Bidwell, Ruby Crawford, Bobbie R., Beatrice Fisher, Hughie Chandler.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com.
