Josh LaFluer was appointed Monday to serve as a trustee on the Constantine Village Council.
LaFluer fills a vacancy left by the June resignation of Joe Faulkner.
LaFluer previously served as a trustee and did not seek re-election when his term ended in November 2020.
Village manager Mark Honeysett said in the general law village act, there is no prescribed method for selecting a candidate, nor specific criteria for naming a person to village the seat.
Trustee Kenda Cartagena said LaFluer served successfully in his previous term, and is familiar with the time and work put in setting up the village’s sewer plant.
Faulkner, a co-owner of Rainbow Farms, a pro-marijuana campground in Vandalia, said last month he felt obligated to resign because state law prohibits anyone involved in marijuana services from serving on the council.
