A White Pigeon woman was involved in a car-versus-motorcycle collision earlier this week in Cass County’s Mason Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of U.S. 12 and Tharp Lake Road.
Investigators said a motorcycle driven by Lon Franklin, 72, of Elkhart, was westbound on U.S. 12 when a northbound vehicle on Tharp Lake Road failed to stop.
The vehicle was driven by 29-year-old Sarah Blough. It struck the rear tire of the motorcycle, sending the motorcycle off the highway and into a nearby field.
Franklin, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Authorities said alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
