Richard Clare Blosser, Sr., age 81, of Burr Oak, passed away early Sunday evening, July 4, 2021 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1940 in Burr Oak, son of the late Roy and Audrey (Simon) Blosser.
Richard was a lifelong Burr Oak area resident.
In 1965 he married Patricia Eckert at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak. The marriage ended in divorce, but he and Pat remained the best of friends.
He was a truck driver by trade and owned and operated Blosser Trucking driving for Arver Farms and Czajkowski Farms both in Bronson.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak and the Million Mile Trucking Club.
Richard enjoyed hunting and going to the dunes with family driving his dune buggies. He loved time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. His children have great memories of the annual family vacations.
He is survived by two daughters: Annette (Gregg) Wilson and Patricia (Michael) Herman both of Burr Oak; two sons: Richard Clare “Rick” (Dianne) Blosser, Jr. of Bronson and Benjamin “Ben” (Laurie) Blosser of Burr Oak; 14 grandchildren: April, Mike, Justin, Erin, Kirstin, Glenn, Abigayle, Brooke, Cedric, Rachel, Elizabeth, Grant, Nicole and Sarah; 17 great grandchildren; one sister Mary Ann Fitch of Bristol, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Kathleen Brown and one brother: LeRoy Blosser.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak where funeral services celebrating the life of Richard Claire Blosser will begin at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. The Rev. Kurt Kuhlmann will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery. A continued time of fellowship and the sharing of a meal will follow the cemetery services in the church fellowship hall.
