Ron Williams, 85

Ronald Lloyd Williams, age 85, of Sturgis, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home.
He was born September 13, 1935 in Saint Louis, Missouri son of the late Lloyd and Delpha (Clark) Williams.
Ron resided most of his life in Sturgis and also lived in the Orlando, Florida area.
He had managed the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Sturgis and a restaurant in Florida while living there. He also worked at several area trailer factories including the Deer Park Trailer Company.
He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Neuman-Wenzel Post #73 American Legion, Eagles Lodge #1314 and Loyal Order of Moose #574. He was talented in the games of pool and golf participating in many leagues and tournaments. Ron enjoyed playing Bingo at the C.O.A., walking around in Walmart and trying his luck in the Michigan Lottery.
He is survived by four daughters: Jennie Rounds of Burr Oak, Kathy Collins of West Branch, JoDel Hendricks of Colon and Elizabeth Tschannen of Sturgis; two sons: Steve Williams and Randy Williams both of Sturgis; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Sally; father: Lloyd Williams and Mother and step-father: Delpha and John Woolford and three brothers: Richard, Larry and Robert Williams.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service and burial of the ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta on at a later date to be announced. Full military honors will be conferred by the Fort Custer and U.S. Army Honor Guards.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
