On August 27th, 2005, in Sturgis, he married Deborah A. (Parlin) Hall, who survives along with her daughter Kasey (Connor) Spearow. Also surviving is Steve’s daughter Stephanie (Shane) Chrisman, several cousins, including Theresa, who kept him up to date on the family, nieces, a nephew, Matt Owens, who was his constant companion when shooting sports were going on, and his former partner Malinda Quirin and her sons Andy (Christina) Salisbury and Kevin (Trina) Salisbury and their families. We would also like to acknowledge his longtime friend, Eldon Brackett, who introduced him to Deb, Amanda (Stump) Burgess who brought him so much enjoyment over the years as he watched her grow, and Travis Carr, a great friend that spent many hours on the phone with him and was there to help the day he was baptized into Christ.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and two cousins, Allen Chrisman and just recently Christine Long.

Steve graduated from Constantine High School with the class of 1968. He then went on to take classes at Glen Oaks Community College when it was in its infancy. Steve entered the working world at a young age by washing out milk cans at the Constantine Creamery. He went on to hold several positions in his lifetime. He was an over the road truck driver early on. He was the owner/operator of the Burger Dairy store in Goshen for a good number of years. He then spent 22 years in management at Viking Formed Products/Coachman in Middlebury. His last five years of work were spent as the lead driver for NFI Industries/Gunite in Bristol and Elkhart before glaucoma eventually took most of his sight.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman. For many years he considered himself “A student of the game of golf”. He loved hunting anything, fishing and shooting sports. He was a member of the St Joseph County Sportsman’s and Conservation Club for decades and ran Sporting Clays there, on Sunday mornings, for years. We would like to thank all of his medical teams, especially Fresenius Kidney Care in Three Rivers, and the Wound Care/Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinic at Borgess Hospital.
