A celebration recognizing the new location of Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce took place Monday.
The fanfare and ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the $1 million transformation of a previously vacant development known as Maple Lane Plaza, on North Main Street.
The rebirth of the former Maple Lane Plaza was detailed and praised repeatedly by a number of speakers who addressed the crowd, comprised largely of chamber members.
Speakers included chamber president and CEO Christy Trammell, property owner and local entrepreneur Jamie Clark, chamber board chair Kristen McEnroe, project manager Chris Rogenski and architect Curt Penny. Trammell said the 4,500-square-foot chamber space includes an event center, conference room and workshare center.
Clark, a lifelong Three Rivers resident, said there is a 4,000-square-foot space at the east end of the south building. Meanwhile, the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District is the anchor tenant in the west building and plans to use the space for programming, Clark said. That building remains a work in progress.
The chamber’s new location is at 1116 N. Main St.
