A major intersection in Three Rivers will be closed for three days next week.
Amy Roth, Three Rivers Department of Public Services director, said a project involving repair of four utility structures at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Main Street will result in a road closure starting at 6 a.m. Monday.
Roth said the closure and repair work are being coordinated in conjunction with Michigan Department of Transportation. The intersection is expected to re-open late Wednesday,
During the closure, local traffic will be directed to Joshua Drive and Railroad Drive for access to downtown businesses.
North Main Street, between Michigan and Portage avenues, however, will be inaccessible. South Main Street businesses will be accessible but traffic will have to turn around before reaching the intersection of Michigan and Main.
Roth said eastbound West Michigan will be closed at Railroad Drive, while westbound East Michigan will be closed at Joshua Drive. Meanwhile, South Main Street northbound will be closed at 4th Street while southbound Main Street will be closed at Portage Avenue.
