Advanced screenings of river documentary

Three locations on Saturday will be staging an advance screening of a documentary on the St. Joseph River.

Produced by PBS network WNIT-TV of South Bend, “Then, Now & Always … The St. Joseph River Story,” will air on network television Sept. 9. But the advance screenings will take place at 4:30 p.m. at Covered Bridge Farm County Park north of Centreville, 7 p.m. at Riviera Theatre in Three Rivers and at dusk at Reed River Park in Mendon.

The premiere at Covered Bridge Farm Park will feature food and games.

Constantine’s Rebecca Shank and Mendon-area resident Holly Stephenson are featured in the documentary. They said production took more than a year and film crews were in St. Joseph County last August to capture footage used in the 60-minute program.
