Dorothy Viola Strayer, age 67, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at the Edgewood Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home following an extended battle with dementia.
She was born Jan. 20, 1954, in Alma, MI, the daughter of Henry and Betsy Strayer.
She was a proud and hard working woman. She worked many different jobs throughout her lifetime; of note, a waitress/cook at Mr. B’s Dairy Bar in Three Rivers; a truck driver for H. Strayer Garbage Disposal in Three Rivers; a press operator at Waycross Molded Products in Waycross, GA; a seamstress at Julie Hat Company in Patterson, GA; a dishwasher/cook at Canteen Services at American Axle in Three Rivers.
She is survived by one son, Bill and Bobbi Strayer; one daughter, Heather and Frank Paauwe; four grandchildren, Brookelyn and Eli Cutchen, Wil Strayer and fiancée Jataya Harrison, Toni and Chance Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Anniston Cutchen; two brothers, Jesse and Cindy Strayer and Rick Strayer. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Solis officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
