Shirley (Vollmar) Allen, age 84, of Sebring, Florida, formally of Three Rivers, Michigan, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dave Allen, and grandson Scott Peter.
Shirley is survived by her companion of 24 years, Tom Danitz, Daughter Cindy Peter, Sons Steve (Kiel) Lucas and Lonnie Allen. Grandchildren; Brad (Katie) Peter, Sheena (Rusty) McClain, Chad (Kelsey) Lucas and Brooke Musser. Great Grandchildren, Alex, Blake, and Camden Peter, Mackenzie Peter, Presley Lucas, and Raegen Musser-Maurer and Brother Butch (Jean) Vollmar.
Shirley was born October 8, 1936 to Bill and Charlotte Vollmar. She was a graduate of Constantine High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Shirley resided in Three Rivers and White Pigeon before moving to Florida.
Shirley’s working career ranged from secretarial to office management and spanned from Continental Can in Three Rivers to South Port Senior Living Community in Port Charlotte, Florida. In her off time, she loved traveling and enjoyed the many cruises she and Tom had taken over the years. Shirley especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
Cremation has taken place per her wishes. A celebration of Life is being planned for close friends and family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to: American Heart Association or West Michigan Cancer Center.
